Sustainability
Our COMMITMENT
Sustainability is not what we do, but who we are.
Our concern to develop our activity based on attitudes that minimize the resulting impact
of our activity, led us to sustainable development acting on 3 aspects:
environmental sustainability, social sustainability and economic sustainability.
Sustainability PRATICS
Responsible purchasing policy that favors local businesses. Example of local suppliers.
Talho da Vila, Verde Água (asparagus), DanielGomes (mushrooms), Douropão, Pão de Ló Vale de São Domingos, Leafs Labirynth (organic raspberries), among others.
Using seasonal products in our restaurants.
Our restaurant menus change throughout the year according to the seasonal ingredients.
Supporting the local community through donations.
Throughout the year we make several donations, for example to: the Fire Department, the Real Social Center, the Instituto Uma Vida Um Sorriso (One Life One Smile Institute), the Castelo de Paiva Church, the Crescer a Cores Association, among others.
Sustainable Procurement Policy
We do not exploit children, there is no gender discrimination in hiring, and approximately 50% of our employees are local residents.
Towel and linen exchange program
The rooms have a program that promotes fewer towel and sheet changes, thus reducing water and electricity consumption.
Circular Recycling Program for Minibar Tubes
All minibar tubes are made of recyclable glass and at the end of each use these tubes are returned to the supplier for recycling.
